Mattias Ingeson grew up in Linköping and Tranås in the south of Sweden. He studied law at Uppsala University and then worked for several years as a manager at Försäkringskassan. In 2007 he became assistant general secretary of the organization. Erikshjälpen. During the following 12 years at Erikshjälpen, he was also responsible for development in the organization.

Mattias Ingeson was a deputy in the Swedish riksdag for kd between 2018 and 2020, elected for the Jönköping county constituency.

In 2019, Mattias took over as regional manager at the Studieförbundet Bilda Sydöst, but after five years at the adult educational association, the offer came that felt so easy to say yes to.  As of January 2024, he is Erikshjälpen’s general secretary.
